Additional Dental Care Information

Sarnia’s Family Dental Centre has compiled answers to a few of our most commonly asked questions below. Contact us today for more information!

Are you accepting new patients?
Our facility welcomes new patients who are looking for dental and hygiene care and we thank our loyal patients for their referrals. Please visit our New Patients page for information and to fill out the necessary paperwork prior to your visit.

How old should my child be to come for his or her first visit?
Unless you have any concerns with your child’s dental health or your child experiences any dental pain or trauma, then your child should come for his or her first visit at age 4. It is always good practice to bring your child with you to your dental appointments to get them familiar with what happens when they visit the dentist.

How far ahead should I book my appointment?
Our administration staff will do their best to fit you in to our schedule as needed. If it is an emergency, we will do our best to get you seen by a doctor as soon as possible.

Do you keep track of my benefit information, including my limits and maximums? Do you also accept assignment of benefits from insurance?
Due to the fact that there are so many insurance carriers and policies, we are not responsible to keep track of any changes in your policies or the benefits provided under said policy. Please notify us of any changes in insurance so that we can update our system of your check-up and cleaning frequencies. If the insurance company allows us, we can contact them for a breakdown of your policy, however we cannot rely on that as not all insurance companies will speak to us regarding your policy. It is imperative that you bring any updated information with you at the time of your visit. We do accept assignment of benefits. For further information regarding assignment of benefits, please see our payment policy.

What information do I need to bring to my appointment?
Make sure that when you come for your appointment that you notify us of any changes in your medical history and insurance so that we can update our records.
